AKU®-DUR PVC-U SOLID RODS or ROUND BARS

Polyvinyl chloride is flame-retardant, exceptionally resistant to chemicals and has a low tendency to stress cracking.
It has high strength, rigidity and hardness
The continuous operating temperature of PVC-U is between -15°C and approx. +60°C.

It can be glued and welded

Our PVC solid rods in dark gray are made from formulation 334HX and are physiologically safe up to a diameter of 160 mm:

– the requirements of the guideline of the Federal Environment Agency 2005 relating to the   temperature range “cold water” as well as the DVGW guideline in accordance with the DVGW Technical  Rules, worksheet W 270.

– of Directive EEC 90/128. In addition, only raw materials with FDA approval are used in this recipe.

– the NSF/ANSI STANDARD 51 Food Equipment Materials guideline.

Polyvinyl chloride unplasticized (PVC-U) is a form of polyvinyl chloride that is produced without the addition of plasticizers or other plasticizing substances.

Properties of PVC-U:

Hardness and rigidity:
PVC-U is characterized by its high hardness and rigidity. These properties make it particularly suitable for applications where structural integrity and strength are required.

  • Chemical resistance:
PVC-U is largely resistant to many chemicals, which makes it suitable for use in various industrial environments. It is particularly resistant to acids, alkalis and other aggressive substances.
  • Temperature resistance:
PVC-U retains its mechanical properties even at higher temperatures, making it suitable for applications in various temperature ranges.
  • Electrical insulation:
PVC-U shows good electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for applications in the electrical industry, especially for cable insulation.

  • Flame resistance

PVC-U is intrinsically flame retardant and can be classified in various fire classes, making it suitable for certain fire protection applications.

  • Workability:
PVC-U can be formed using various processing methods such as extrusion, injection molding and calendering. This enables the manufacture of a variety of products for different applications.

  • Applications

    :

PVC-U is often used in the construction industry for pipes, window profiles, doors and other building elements. It is also used in the chemical industry, water supply, electrical industry and other technical applications.

The exact properties of PVC-U may vary depending on the manufacturer and formulation.
It is therefore advisable to refer to the specific technical data sheets and recommendations in order to select the right PVC-U product for a particular application.
