AKU®-LYTE PET SOLID RODS or ROUND BARS

Polyethylene terephthalate is hard, rigid, strong and tough and has a low coefficient of sliding friction and high dimensional stability.
The continuous operating temperature is between -20°C and approx. +115°C.

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) rods are high-quality plastic rods made from the thermoplastic polymer polyethylene terephthalate.

They are characterized by their high strength, rigidity and chemical resistance.

PET rods are particularly suitable for applications that require good mechanical strength and resistance to chemical influences, such as in electrical engineering, model making and the food industry. Thanks to their versatility and durability, PET rods offer a reliable solution for a wide range of applications in various industries.

  • High strength and rigidity
  • High creep resistance
  • High surface hardness
  • good polishability
  • High dimensional stability
  • good sliding friction properties and abrasion resistance
  • Good electrical insulation behavior
  • High chemical resistance
  • Good paintability
  • Mediocre dielectric properties
  • sensitive to hydrolysis

PET for short, is a widely used thermoplastic with a variety of applications.

Properties of PET:

  • High tensile strength:
PET has a high tensile strength, which makes it suitable for applications with structural requirements.

  • Good barrier layers:
PET can be used in multilayer composite materials to provide a good barrier against oxygen, water vapor and other external influences.

  • Resistance to chemicals:
PET is resistant to many chemicals, which makes it suitable for applications in the chemical industry or for the storage of certain chemicals.

  • Low water absorption:
PET only absorbs small amounts of water, which results in low moisture absorption.

Applications of PET:

PET is used in various industries, including:

  • Electronics industry: PET films are used in the electronics industry for display protection films and flexible printed circuit boards.

  • Medical industry: PET is used in the manufacture of devices, for example.

PET is one of the most widely used plastics in the world due to its versatile properties and applications.
