Biopolymers made from PLA-HI CL WPC-PP and PA 6.10

As permanent market observation and social changes will require a rethink of solutions in the future, semi-finished products based on biopolymers are now being produced for the first time worldwide.

This was only possible thanks to close cooperation between all industry players and our partners.

BIO-AKU® semi-finished products, provisionally in the materials

  • PLA-HI
  • CL
  • WPC-PP
  • PA 6.10

are just the beginning; further materials are constantly being developed for future requirements.

We at are following this path as one of the pioneers in an industry that was previously dominated exclusively by suppliers of petrochemical products.

This exciting project is characterized by expertise at the highest level, coupled with a willingness to explore new and innovative avenues.

Biopolymers, when combined with specific base polymers such as PLA-HI, WPC-30PP and PA 6.10, open up new horizons for sustainable and high-performance plastic solutions.

Description of the features and benefits of these advanced polymer blends:

PLA-HI (polylactic acid with high impact strength):

Properties:

  • High impact strength:
PLA-HI is characterized by improved impact strength compared to conventional PLA, which makes it ideal for applications with increased mechanical loads.
  • Biodegradable:
Like conventional PLA, PLA-HI is also biodegradable, which contributes to environmentally friendly disposal.

WPC-30PP (Wood-Plastic Composite with 30% polypropylene):

Properties:

  • Wood fiber content:
The addition of 30% polypropylene to wood fibers improves the strength and stability of the composite.
  • Sustainability:
The combination of wood fibers with polypropylene promotes sustainability and reduces the need for purely synthetic polymers.
  • Formability: WPC-30PP is formable and can be used in a variety of applications.

Applications:

  • Building and construction materials.
  • Furniture and interior design.
  • Garden furniture and decking.

PA 6.10 (polyamide 6.10):

Properties:

  • Bio-based:
PA 6.10 is made from renewable raw materials and is therefore bio-based and sustainable.
  • High strength:
The polymer has high strength and rigidity, which makes it suitable for structural applications.
  • Versatility:
PA 6.10 can be used in various applications, from automotive components to consumer goods.

Applications:

  • Automotive applications such as engine compartment components.
  • Electronics housing.
  • Sports equipment and outdoor clothing.

Advantages of using biopolymers in these blends:

  1. Sustainability:
The integration of biopolymers helps to reduce dependence on fossil raw materials and promote sustainable manufacturing practices.
  2. Increased performance:
PLA-HI and WPC-30PP offer improved mechanical properties such as impact resistance and strength.
  3. Versatility:
The compounds are versatile and can be used in various industries, from packaging materials to construction components.
  4. Biodegradability:
The use of PLA-HI and PA 6.10 contributes to the development of products that are biodegradable at the end of their service life.

The combination of biopolymers with PLA-HI, WPC-30PP and PA 6.10 represents an innovative step towards sustainable and high-performance polymer solutions for a wide range of applications.
