AKU®-FLON PFA SHEETS untempered

PFA is one of the perfluoroalkoxy polymers.
These are thermoplastic copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene with perfluorinated vinyl ethers.
In addition to the very high chemical resistance PFA not only has a very high temperature resistance but also a
continuous temperature application
of over 250 °C.

PFA is weldable.

PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) sheets are high-quality plastic sheets made from the polymer perfluoroalkoxyethylene.

They are characterized by their exceptional heat resistance, chemical resistance and non-stick properties.

PFA sheets are particularly suitable for applications that require extreme temperatures and aggressive chemicals, such as in the chemical industry, semiconductor production and food processing.

Thanks to their outstanding properties, PFA sheets offer a reliable and durable solution for demanding applications in various industries.

Extruded sheets with protective film on the top side, sintered sheets without protective film.

Extruded PFA and PFA-HP sheets are made from Dyneon 6502TZ,
sintered sheets made from DuPont™ Teflon® PFA 450 HP.

Perfluoroalkoxyalkane

abbreviated as PFA, is a high-temperature resistant thermoplastic from the fluoropolymer family.
PFA is produced by the copolymerization of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and perfluoroalkoxyl fluoroethylene (PAVE).

Properties of PFA:

  • High temperature resistance:
PFA is extremely heat resistant and can be used continuously at temperatures of up to 260°C (500°F) without losing its structural properties.

  • Chemical resistance:
PFA shows excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, bases, solvents and other aggressive substances. This makes it suitable for applications in the chemical industry.

  • Low friction:
PFA has low friction, which makes it interesting for sliding and bearing applications.

  • Electrical insulation:
Due to its electrical insulation properties, PFA is used in the electrical industry for the manufacture of cable sheathing, insulators and other components.

  • Transparency:
PFA is transparent and offers good light transmission. This property makes it interesting for applications where good visibility is required.

  • Good workability:
PFA can be formed by various processing methods such as extrusion, injection molding and thermoforming, which enables its versatile application.

Applications of PFA:

PFA is used in various industries, including:

  • Chemical industry: pipelines, valves, pumps and fittings due to its high temperature resistance and chemical resistance.

  • Electrical and electronics industry: cable sheathing, insulators and other electrical components due to its electrical insulation properties.

  • Food industry: Due to its high purity and food compatibility, PFA is used in food processing.

  • Medical technology: hoses, seals and other components due to its biocompatibility.

Thanks to its outstanding properties, PFA is a versatile plastic that is used in demanding technical applications.
