The Oval-Q is a compact and modern hot air device used as a versatile professional tool for welding, processing, shrinking, and shaping various thermoplastic materials.
Its robust design is complemented by easy-to-clean, visually appealing air screens. Like all Forsthoff hand welding devices, this model is also equipped with a powerful German motor manufactured in their own production facility in Solingen. The double turbine system ensures a high air output of 280 liters per minute, while the ergonomic, slim handle allows for comfortable and fatigue-free operation.
As the successor to the proven Tube-Q, the Oval-Q offers a strong heating capacity of 1500 W (230 V) or 1600 W (120 V). The precise and reliable control electronics enable temperature regulation up to 700 °C. Moreover, the device impresses with a long carbon brush lifespan of 1,500 hours. The collector carbons are replaceable multiple times and feature an automatic shutdown that protects the motor once the carbon brushes are worn out.
Thanks to the air-cooled heating element tube, the device is compatible with numerous attachable nozzles. This makes it ideal for welding all thermoplastic materials as well as processing technical textiles, tarpaulin materials, banner fabrics, pond and roof membranes or films in swimming pool construction. Additionally, it is used for activation, heating, shaping, and shrinking of various thermoplastic materials.

The device is ideally suited for a variety of applications, including welding advertising banners, tent tarps, and flat roof membranes, processing PVC floors and linoleum, as well as repairing car tarpaulins, tents, and plastics.
Additionally, it can be used for shrinking films, cables, and hoses, shaping and fusing thermoplastic materials, and sterilizing packaging in the food industry. It is also suitable for smoothing pills and dragées, removing plastic molding flash, and constructing and repairing aquacultures, boats, pools, and ponds.
The device is produced in Germany and is also suitable for electromechanical work.
